The information campaign on the new coronavirus is launching

On 24 March 2020, the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB) was directed by the Government to carry out a major information campaign in order to provide coordinated information on the new coronavirus. The awareness action is carried out in cooperation with the Public Health Agency and the National Board of Health and Welfare. The goal is to reach as many as possible in Sweden’s population.

Strengthened voluntary support for municipalities with those in isolation due to the coronavirus

The Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB) has, together with the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions (SKR), entered into an agreement with organisations within the civil society to support municipalities in helping people over the age of 70, or those belonging to another risk group, with grocery shopping and collection of medications during the corona pandemic. The goal is to offer voluntary support to all 290 municipalities.

Official information from the authorities handling the outbreak of the coronavirus

The Public Health Agency of Sweden recommends that Sweden’s upper secondary schools, municipal adult education, vocational higher education and higher education institutions move to online and distance learning.
