Earthquake in Türkiye and Syria

During the night between February 5 and 6, a severe earthquake occurred in southern Türkiye on the border with Syria. The quake measured up to 7.8 on the Richter Scale and has destroyed buildings in both countries, leaving many dead, injured and missing.

EU medical stockpile in Sweden activated to support Türkiye

Türkiye has requested assistance with medical equipment through the EU Civil Protection Mechanism (ERCC). The EU has decided to activate the Swedish EU medical stockpile, which will send 50 ventilators to support the medical capacity in Türkiye.

The Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB) awarded EU-project to provide temporary emergency shelters during crises

Sweden, through MSB, has been awarded a long-term project by the EU to be able contribute with temporary emergency shelter for roughly 1,000 people in the event of crises and disasters. The project runs for just over three and a half years, until September 2026, and has a budget of 25.2 million euros, most of which is financed by the EU.

Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency adds beds and power plants to transport to Türkiye

Another shipment of equipment was sent to Türkiye today. This delivery is an important supplement to the 300 family tents that were flown out on Sunday and consists of several larger tents, beds, mattresses, food and electricity.
