The test is carried out four times per year, at 3 p.m. on the first non-holiday Monday of
• March

The reason for the "Important announcement" signal

The "Important announcement" signal is used to warn of serious events, such as a gas or chemical accidents. The signal can also be used in the case of an air-raid or emergency alarm, to warn the public of the imminent threat of war or air attack.

When you hear the signal at times other than during the test, you should:
• Go indoors.
• Close all doors, windows and, if possible, ventilation.
• Listen to Radio Sweden P4, or watch SVT or teletext.

For more information about any incident, you can access information on the website Krisinformation.se or from the information hotline 113 13.
If you live in an area without an audio transmitter, you can still be alerted via the Krisinformation app, SOS Alarm's 112 app and Radio Sweden Play.
