Official information from the authorities handling the outbreak of the coronavirus

The Public Health Agency of Sweden recommends that Sweden’s upper secondary schools, municipal adult education, vocational higher education and higher education institutions move to online and distance learning.

As a result of the Public Health Agency’s recommendation, the possibility of conducting online and distance learning based on the Government ordinance adopted on Friday, 13 March, is now open. Regarding municipal adult education, higher vocational education and training, universities and higher education institutions, online and distance learning opportunities are already in place.

The Government, together with the representatives of all parties in the Parliamentary Committee on Education, is urgently preparing an act to enable the Government to ensure care is available for children whose parents deliver vital public services should we find ourselves in a situation where preschools and compulsory schools need to be closed.
