Status for ongoing work on a digital tool

MSB, the Public Health Agency of Sweden, and the National Board of Health and Welfare are currently working on a tool to digitally map out symptoms and how the behavior of the Swedish population has changed due to COVID-19.

The work on the digital tool is ongoing and is based on the needs of the Public Health Agency, the National Board of Health and Welfare, and the regions. The questions included in the survey will be optional and all data is anonymized. The objective is to increase understanding of the effect the spread of infection is having on society by mapping out where there are symptoms and how the population has been impacted by the novel coronavirus.

The technical solution is based on existing technology and has been produced with the help of a number of stakeholders from the trade and industry sector. A high level of security and capacity to handle a large number of respondents has been the focus with this solution.

MSB has received a great number of offers of technology, including many different apps. MSB has procured technology from the Swedish trade and industry sector, with a major focus on security and data protection.

The technical solution was completed some time ago. At this point, it is about finding support with relevant authorities and regions. The date of roll-out is not yet set. When the roll-out is imminent, we will provide more information.
