The Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB) is participating in annual bilateral meetings under the auspices of Sweden's transatlantic research- and development agreements. On the agenda are expert meetings in a number of prioritized fields, such as cyber security, countering foreign influence and prevention of violent extremism.

Thereafter, DG Dan Eliasson and his counterparts will lead executive level meetings, to set the course for the collaboration during the coming year. The trip will begin in Washington DC, and continue in Ottawa, Canada.

In Washington DC, DG Eliasson and his expert team on election security and countering foreign influence will participate in a meeting between DHS Acting Secretary Kevin McAleenan and the Swedish Minister for Home Affairs, Mikael Damberg, to give a brief on how MSB has worked with countering foreign influence and secured the national Swedish election in 2018. Thereafter, Dan Eliasson will represent Sweden alongside leadership from US State Department, Department for Homeland Security and Department of Defence, in a panel discussion about strategic leadership in the field of democratic defense, organized by the Swedish Embassy in the House of Sweden.
