On the 26th and 27th of June, MSB hosted the annual bilateral meeting with the Department for Homeland Security.

The Swedish delegation was headed by Director General Dan Eliasson, who welcomed his counterpart William Bryan, Senior Official Performing the Duties of the Under Secretary of Science and Technology and his delegation to Stockholm.

The meeting addressed the often similar challenges we face, and priorities for future collaboration, focusing on how our long-standing collaboration can continue to contribute to strengthened capacity on both sides of the Atlantic.

Experts on both sides took part in meetings on themes such as countering violent extremism, protection of soft targets and cyber security. The parties noted a number of action points, and agreed that there is a lot we can do together to increase the security and resilience in our societies!

The overall objective of the agreement is to promote enduring cooperative processes between MSB and DHS, between Swedish authorities and their US counterparts, and between Swedish public and private research entities and their US partners.
