The dry and warm weather has resulted in a long forest fire season with several large forest fires, for example in Gävleborg, Jämtland and Dalarna.

The Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB) offers support in the form of materials such as forest fire depots or assists operators in negotiating resources. The Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency  has continuous contact with affected operators such as county boards, municipalities, neighbouring counties and the EU civil protection body Emergency Response Coordination Centre.

The Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency urges the public to continue being careful in forests and fields and to respect the fire bans that have been put in place in many area. You can find information on fire bans on the municipality and county websites.
