Friday 7th of April 2017 a truck was hijacked and driven into people and in the city of Stockholm. MSB was tasked by the Government to follow up and to evaluate emergency management system. The evaluation have been presented to the Government.

Police, healthcare services as well as municipal rescue services responded quickly and effectively. Actions as well as risks taken by individuals were in many cases higher than what could have been expected.

There is a need to draw lessons learned and to transform experiences from this attack into planning, training and exercising with an aim to increase the capability to manage the complexities arising from this kind of an attack.

It is important that the actors involved have a thorough understanding of each other´s tasks in order to identify needs for cooperation in between themselves. In a coordinated response, the actors involved need to be able to solve different tasks, to act both according to the own specific needs and to the needs of other actors.  It is essential to ensure that actors concerned can share information safely.
