Today, MSB is launching a new resource aiming to enhance the agency’s commitment to promote gender equality in international operations. In this work, all staff have a key role to play. To support efforts, MSB Gender Equality Toolkit has been developed to serve as an encyclopedia of practical tips, advice and examples of how staff can integrate gender equality considerations into a wide range of working methods and technical areas of expertise in crisis management and peace support operations.

On May 13-14, MSB welcomes the head of EU´s civilian missions, Mr Vincenzo Coppola, Civilian Operations Commander. During his stay he will visit EU’s strategic warehouse for civilian and conflict management operations.

One year ago, MSB sent out the brochure If Crisis or War Comes. In a follow-up survey, 63 per cent of respondents say that the brochure has made them reflect more on how they would be able to handle a societal crisis.

New version of handbook for communicators – Countering information influence activities

The Swedish Government has decided that authorities must be able to identify and counter information influence campaigns. The Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB) has therefore been working actively since 2014 to identify, understand and counter information influence activities. An important part of this work is to increase public awareness of information influence by disseminating knowledge. For this reason, MSB is publishing a new version of the handbook and during the spring will be educating staff at the monitoring authorities in its use.
